Code of Conduct for Parents & Carers

As a parent or carer you should:

  • Encourage your child to learn and obey the Club’s Junior rules.
  • Never force your child to take part in sport.
  • Encourage fair play and respect of officials, umpires and their decisions.
  • Publicly accept officials’ judgements.
  • Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performances of all.
  • Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.
  • Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
  • Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
  • Help to supervise your child or other children when they are on the water.
  • Use correct and proper language at all times.
  • Not smoke on Club premises.
  • Never exert undue influence over coaches to obtain preferential treatment for your family members.
