Safety
Exeter Rowing Club puts safety at the centre of all its activities. The club adheres to the ARA Water Safety Code and submits its annual safety audit. A risk assessment has been conducted and a set of club safety instructions drawn up. A map marking hazards is posted in the boathouse. The club appoints a Club Water Safety Adviser who attends committee meetings where safety is an agenda item. The CWSA is responsible for giving advice to club officers, coaches and all members who are all responsible for their own and others safety.
ERC takes safety seriously but recognises that it is an area which requires constant attention. The club is having a drive to ensure that all members who go on the water (rowers, scullers, coxes, coaches, umpires) are able to swim and conduct a club sponsored test in line with ARA Water Safety Code.
