Exeter cleans up at Bideford Regatta

Another weekend – another regatta!

Sun drenched Bideford was this week’s challenge. Glorious weather for our family spectators but perhaps not so good for those taking part. We had five quads, four doubles and several singles racing.

Our J13s started the day well for us with the mixed boat rowing really well to finish first in front of the Reds and Blues, both local crews. The J16 girls went from third in their heat to second behind Totnes in their final. Matt gave up coxing to row with the intermediate squad in MSC 4+. Ed and Ollie both raced in the J16 single with Ollie getting his first win in another close run race.

The boys’ doubles and quads all won with Matt being just edged out of a second place in the Mens novice singles. Ed filled in the men’s Novice 4. The J14 girls gained valuable points for the Club with two second places. Points do mean prizes – we won the Victor Ludorum for the Club with most points at the regatta.

Well done everyone! Many thanks to Joe for towing the trailer and setting up camp for us.
